Rain held off so went to a local “People’s Choice” car show fund raiser hosted by our town’s senior citizens club. No judging.
Nice turnout considering the timing. Good assortment of vehicles from a cherry Model A to the latest Corvette. Fun, entertaining, and low effort. Got 3rd place People’s Choice, with the Model A getting first and a 1950 Ford getting second. Not bad! Great pleasure in beating THREE Corvettes, two caddies, a 65 Lotus, and a 1999 Cobra Mustang. Prize was a nice large bottle of wine and scored in the raffle with a gift card to my favorite local sub shop! Met several town car folks, too. Very pleasant few hours. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) nice
I always wondered if Jersey Mikes really originated in Jersey or was just a big marketing scam. Really like their sandwiches. One giant #13 as a combo and the gift card is a gonner. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif) |

enjoy the pinot n. hopefully its a good one. my uncle pumps out a noir and a grigio from his little vineyard up near strathbogie down here. granite country. he got a wild vintage back in 2020 when we had the bushfires. thought the smoke was going to ruin the years wine. it didn't. its spectacular. smoky flavour. just knocked off a bottle of it last week. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) your "mike's" way got me curious. had to google it. another one of those specialist american sandwiches you guys are so good at. i was salivating reading the methodology and ingredients for the sandwich composition. @wonkipop
An American sandwich take on an Italian antipasto. We pilfer again? Does your relative export? Might like to try it. The fires in CA added a smokiness, too; worked well with the reds- no so much with the reds other than Chardonnay. |
